Zoo Lights 2008'
Thursday we spent the evening at the zoo and Rocky Mountain pizza. Too much fun! It was a little cold, but we managed. Lex enjoyed the turtles the most! Taylor and Lauren hunted for animals around every corner. We all had "3D" glasses that enhanced all the fun Christmas lights. This may have to become a Rolen tradition.

Rob had this great idea to cut down our first Christmas tree together. The drive to Ogden sounded simple enough.... Who really knows where Farr West Utah is? Needless to say we had to stop and ask for directions. Not sure if we picked the worst gas station in town, but we all heard some horrible language. We found the tree farm and decided that Utah does not grow trees that are worthy in the Rolen house. We drove back to Salt Lake and found one at M&T's lot in Sandy. I had to negotiate the price a lot, but we ended up with a 14" ft tree. (we had to cut a few inches off to stand it up in the house) We had great laughs and a lot of smiles. It was the perfect start to our first Christmas together.

Turkey day was a blast. Although I didn't feel well, my mom and dad did great as always. The Turkey was exceptional this year... mmmm We took a trip down on Trax to see the tree lighting ceremony at Gateway and to walk around Temple Square. Super fun

Our trip to Scotland... The girls, Rob, and I were so excited to travel across the ocean to see my sweet Gran. All together there were about twenty five of us traveling. It was like a dream to walk into my Gran's house for the first time in twenty one years. We stayed in a great flat, shopped, spent time with extended family, saw amazing sights, trespassed (to see the house that my grandfather grew up in) slept in a youth hostile, kissed the lochness monster, ate fish&chips, (Robbie is the only one that dared to eat haggis) Yuck! stayed up late, chased foxes, got stuck in a ditch, golfed, went to the Highland games, toured beautiful castles, saw the hospital I was born in, went to a soccer match, and spent time with my Gran, that was the best!

Viva Las Vegas

This weekend Taylor and I went to Las Vegas to see the premier of 'Twilight" Really it was a good excuse to visit friends. Taylor hasn't been back since we moved to Salt Lake last September. (I can't believe we've been here over a year!) It was spectacular to trade in my UGGS for flip-flops. We jumped on a JetBlue flight Thurs morning and came home Saturday night. We stayed with my girlfriend Christa and her cute family. We shopped, ate, slept in, and talked about Edward! We had reserved a party room at the theater and had food before we watched Bella! The movie itself was good, the party before was so much fun.
